Pain 03:36
Carry the pain everyday The aimless arrow away The musical language It's pouring out today So much pain to let go of So much pain left to endure So much pain to lose And so much pain to chose Break from the sadness Rolling up the hill Watch it slide back down Forward emotional So much pain to let go of So much pain left to endure So much pain to lose And so much pain to chose So much pain to let go of So much pain left to endure So much pain to lose And so much pain to chose

Home Run 03:11
What I would give for One more moment with you To tell you I need you To tell you I love you To tell you please don’t go To tell you please don’t go Is it dark, is it light? Is it day, is it night? Is it wrong, is it right? Is it dark, is it light? Now you’re gone I miss you everyday I think about joining you I hope you’re smiling too Who wonders what happens When you eat the gun Slide in for the home run Is it dark, is it light? Is it day, is it night? Is it wrong, is it right? Is it dark, is it light? Is it dark, is it light? Is it day, is it night? Is it wrong, is it right? Is it dark, is it light?

Stare down the barrel so shiny and new Look at it look back at you Telling you telling you what to do Telling you telling you what to do Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb You’re worthless, You should just, end it Why does that voice creep in Telling you telling you what to do Telling you telling you what to do Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Instrumental Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb Is blood of the covenant thicker than water of the womb

As I stare into the depths The shiny surface gleams toward me A beacon in The muddled haze And sends a shock Of electricity Through my eyes. Lending a pale gleam To my dead soul With you by my side I see the light Even in the dark depths With you by my side I see the light Even in the dark depths Hell doesn’t know boundaries And the devil’s razor yields sin The thousand yard stare Cast by peculiar eyes like Trench rats burrowing inside With you by my side I see the light Even in the dark depths With you by my side I see the light Even in the dark depths Solo With you by my side I see the light Even in the dark depths With you by my side I see the light Even in the dark depths

Though not much about nostalgia What did Sunday morning say About the hardly innocent Who wanted all to remember He was a very good man The violet violent sunset Engages me As violent violet air Encircles me Mosquito dope Deep in my veins Prytania, pontchartrain Mosquito dope Deep in my veins Prytania, pontchartrain What then am I supposed to say Not a thing she said You’re a good man and Good men don’t need To say anything Don’t say anything The violet violent sunset engages me As violent violet air encircles me Mosquito dope Deep in my veins Prytania, pontchartrain Mosquito dope Deep in my veins Prytania, pontchartrain, Magazine. Solo I want to help, That’s on the square Do you understand do you care Can my will alone solve The problems in our lives Tragic defects decide The violet violent sunset engages me As violent violet air encircles me Mosquito dope Deep in my veins Prytania, pontchartrain Mosquito dope Deep in my veins Prytania, pontchartrain, Magazine.

about

As a child growing up in the rural south, emotion could be seen as a sign of weakness. When told to be “tough” as a kid, alternative singer-songwriter and music producer Corbin Dooley learned to internalize extreme emotions. When his first girlfriend died by suicide, the battle against trauma started. Years later, his close aunt died by suicide, and then in late 2016, after fighting years of depression, his mother took her life. All three losses, particularly the loss of his mother, left Corbin feeling hopeless and distraught.

“The Western Trauma album is an insight into my thoughts and feelings from my journal. I have felt alone in the past, and I want others to never feel alone in their trauma. My hope is that this record can help people in their own journey.” - Corbin Dooley

Western Trauma was recorded and produced at the historic EastWest Studios by six-time Grammy Award winning record producer, engineer and mixer Vance Powell, who felt connected to Corbin’s story and the theme of the album. The songs became a cinematic take on alternative country music, with retro country elements and lush string arrangements, warping reality into a versatile, inconstant, and ever changing abnormality.
